Using PHP scripts for extra functionality on your website
By this time, you've discovered that PHP is a very fast, powerful language
- and much easier to learn than Russian, I'd imagine!
One of the coolest things you can do with web design is use scripts, or
specialized, pre-written code, to perform various tasks. Scripts can
be used for a multitude of things:
- finding out information about your visitors
- make contact forms for your users to e-mail you
- create newsletters and have users sign up to receive them
- connect to a database
- and about a MILLION other things ....and that's not an
exaggeration!
As you can tell, PHP is by far my favorite. It's versatile and easy
to implement. So, the scripts I'll be referring to will all be PHP
scripts. Perhaps later, I will write a tutorial on ASP, Perl or
other types of scripts, but for now, it's PHP.
